Android Engineer (Kotlin)

What you would do

Work in an agile, start-up-like environment building products and services
Collaborate with other engineers to push the platform forward through engineering-led initiatives
Evaluate the technical trade offs of each initiative, weigh different approaches and arrive at a recommended solution with its pros and cons
Independently define, decompose and lead the delivery of complex projects
Perform code reviews, design reviews and write high quality tests
Hold a high standard of code quality and operational rigor (tests, monitoring, alerting, runbooks)
Become the subject matter expert for one or more services in your domain
Create clear and concise documentation (diagrams, service descriptions, decisions, runbooks)
Identify and remove bottlenecks in the developer experience
Mentor junior engineers, building their technical skills and best practices

BS in CS or equivalent practical experience
6+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin, with apps shipped to the Play Store
Ability to collaborate with Engineering and Product stakeholders
Solid Computer Science fundamentals and command of Android design patterns and best practices, with the ability to mentor
High attention to detail: the services should not merely be functional but anticipate the customer's needs
Experience integrating with RESTful server-side services
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Passion about mentoring and helping more junior engineers to grow
