Senior Generative AI Engineer Copilot / Power Automate

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Generative AI Engineer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Automate to drive and scale the organizations adoption of AI-powered productivity tools. This role blends deep technical expertise in designing and optimizing agents with the ability to support and guide non-technical users across the business.

The engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting Copilot-related issues, reviewing and refining agents, and ensuring alignment with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and governance standards. Additionally, they will contribute to strengthening the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) by improving documentation, lifecycle practices, and observability.

Key Responsibilities

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Lead issue resolution for Copilot and Power Automate, including connectors, permissions, workflow errors, and platform limitations.
  • Identify recurring problems and propose preventive or scalable solutions.

Agent Review & Optimization

  • Analyze, debug, and enhance agents to ensure efficiency, resilience, scalability, and compliance.
  • Optimize prompt architectures, flow logic, and agent lifecycle design.

User Enablement

  • Coach employees in safely building, deploying, and refining agents.
  • Translate technical conceptssuch as platform limits, governance rules, and data-handling best practicesinto clear guidance for non-technical users.

Architecture & Best Practices

  • Apply strong knowledge of agent architectures, prompt lifecycles, retrieval patterns, and AI orchestration.
  • Recommend design patterns aligned with enterprise standards and operational requirements.

Governance & CoE Collaboration

  • Work closely with data, security, compliance, and governance teams to align agents with DLP and risk policies.
  • Support Power Platform CoE initiatives, including monitoring, lifecycle management, solution reviews, and automated governance controls.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create clear technical documentation, user guides, reusable patterns, and knowledge articles.
  • Suggest improvements based on common incidents, platform metrics, or friction points observed across solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven, hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Automate.
  • Strong ability to design, troubleshoot, and optimize agent workflows and connectors.
  • Solid understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, DLP policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Agent architectures
    • Prompt-and-response lifecycles
    • Context, tokens, memory, and platform boundaries
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics in simple terms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), multi-agent orchestration, or MCP server concepts.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, or cost tracking tools.
  • Exposure to enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Dataverse, Azure Data Lake).
  • Previous involvement in a Power Platform Center of Excellence or similar governance effort.
