Were looking for a highly experienced Senior / Lead AI Software Engineer with a strong background in AI/ML and production-grade software development to help us build and scale next-generation intelligent systems.
This role will be central to developing our retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, graph-based knowledge storage, and robust, production-ready AI/ML services that power enterprise-level applications.
Youll work at the intersection of machine learning, knowledge systems, and cloud engineering owning services end-to-end, driving experimentation, and ensuring that every solution you design is scalable, reliable, and aligned with business outcomes.
Our tech stack includes Python (FastAPI, sentence transformers, LLM integrations), Neo4j for graph knowledge, AWS, Rails, microservices, and a React-based UI.
What Youll Bring (Required Skills & Experience):
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering and applied machine learning.
- Proven ability to deliver production-quality code in Python, ideally using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Deep expertise in AI/ML, LLMs, and retrieval systems, with a record of delivering real-world, scalable systems.
- Experience with graph databases (Neo4j preferred) and data modeling for complex relationships.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based architectures (AWS) and microservices.
- Experience with system evaluation, experimentation, and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of bridging research and engineering.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, with a track record of owning and delivering services end-to-end.
- Product-oriented mindset: able to balance experimentation with pragmatic delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Neo4j or other graph databases.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, SageMaker, or Bedrock.
- Background in verification workflows, AI trustworthiness, or evaluation frameworks.
- Experience scaling proofs of concept into production-grade systems.
- Familiarity with microservices architectures and CI/CD practices.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities):
- Lead the design and experimentation of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques for question answering over a Neo4j-based knowledge graph.
- Build production-grade AI/ML services, moving beyond prototypes to scalable, efficient systems ready for deployment in cloud environments.
- Develop and refine evaluation frameworks including test sets, failure mode analyses, LLM-as-a-judge rubrics, and trustworthiness metrics.
- Design strategies to handle conflicting, incomplete, and time-sensitive knowledge while ensuring consistency and explainability.
- Own one or more services, translating product requirements into technical architecture and measurable deliverables.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to validate feasibility, de-risk architecture decisions, and establish strong ML foundations.
- Build ingestion and transformation pipelines that convert unstructured data into structured knowledge, enabling effective graph-based querying and retrieval.
