● 4+ years building and shipping production software, with ownership of features end to end rather than a single layer

● Strong backend engineering with functional programming experience. Our engine is Scala (+4 years of exp)

● Willingness and demonstrated experience working across the stack, including TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks. You should be able to take a feature from API to UI without handing it off (1-2 years its ok, the framework itself its not relevant)

● Expertise in SQL and a working understanding of relational databases and query behavior

● Experience using AI tools across the development lifecycle including code generation, review, test authoring, issue investigation. You also possess the judgment to evaluate output rather than accept it. Work you submit is work you understand and can defend

● Track record mentoring other engineers, whether or not you've held a formal lead title. Code review, onboarding, unblocking, raising the bar around you

● Comfort operating with incomplete requirements. You ask the questions that resolve the ambiguity, propose an approach, and move rather than waiting to be told

● Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Excel) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)

● Kubernetes and containerized deployment, particularly in customer-managed environments

● Semantic layer, OLAP, or dimensional modeling concepts

● Experience shipping AI or LLM-backed features to production
