Job Description:
Role Summary We are seeking a skilled Tableau Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and analytics solutions that drive data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate has strong experience building production-ready Tableau dashboards, advanced SQL skills for analytics and data validation, and a solid understanding of ETL/data warehouse concepts. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain insightful Tableau dashboards and visualizations that align with business requirements. Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation. Translate stakeholder requirements into clear analytics use cases, wireframes, and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product owners to ensure data accuracy and performance of dashboards. Implement data modeling best practices and ensure dashboards follow data governance and security guidelines. Perform performance tuning for slow-running visualizations and underlying queries. Create documentation and user guides for dashboards; provide end-user training and support. Validate ETL outputs and run data integrity checks to ensure reporting accuracy. Manage versioning and deployment of Tableau workbooks to Tableau Server or Tableau Online. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of analytics practices. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hands-on Tableau development experience (Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Tableau Online). Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization. Proven experience translating business questions into analytics solutions and visualizations. Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and tools (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables). Experience troubleshooting dashboard performance and optimizing data sources. Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience with data platforms such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or SQL Server. Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, AWS Glue) or experience validating ETL processes. Experience with modern BI practices (semantic layers, extracts vs live connections, parameterized dashboards). Experience with scripting (Python, R) for data prep or automation. Tableau certification (Tableau Desktop Certified Associate or Professional). Familiarity with version control (Git) and ticketing tools (Jira). Tools & Technologies Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server / Tableau Online, SQL (SQL Server, Postgres, Redshift, Snowflake), Excel, Git, Jira, ETL platforms (as applicable).
