Role Overview
We are looking for a D365 Functional Architect to drive the functional design, configuration, and continuous optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), focusing specifically on Finance and Procurement domains. This role acts as a bridge to translate complex business requirements into highly scalable ERP configurations, practical process enhancements, and clear solution blueprints. The ideal candidate possesses deep functional knowledge of D365 F&O, structural expertise in fit-gap analyses, and a proven ability to lead user adoption, testing, and cross-functional alignment.

Core Responsibilities
1. ERP Functional Design & Configuration

Module Optimization: Support and deliver functional designs, system configurations, and optimization paths across the Finance and Procurement modules of Dynamics 365 F&O.

Requirements & Mapping: Gather, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements. Map current-state and future-state workflows to recommend scalable solution options.

Fit-Gap Engineering: Conduct detailed process discovery sessions, comprehensive fit-gap analysis, and formal solution blueprinting for upcoming enterprise enhancements.

Specifications Design: Translate operational needs into precise functional specifications, system configuration matrices, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
2. Governance, Data & Integration Architecture

System Integrations: Collaborate actively with integration teams to support clean, reliable, and secure interfaces between D365 and external connected enterprise networks.

Downstream Alignment: Partner with Data & Analytics teams to ensure that advanced corporate reporting, reconciliation rules, and downstream data dependencies are fully integrated into the architecture blueprint.

Platform Standards: Establish and protect operational standards regarding system configuration, data entities, extensions, change control procedures, and release management.
3. Testing Coordination, Quality & Change Enablement

UAT Execution: Define test scenarios, expected system behaviors, and strict acceptance criteria for new features. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and business readiness audits.

Knowledge Transfer: Author comprehensive technical documentation and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer among super-users and business stakeholders.

Change Governance: Assess systemic change impacts and communicate technical or process modifications effectively across all affected departments. Maintain audit-ready documentation to support corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and system ownership.
Required Qualifications (Hard Skills)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.

Professional Journey: 4 to 6 years of direct experience in ERP functional analysis, solution design, customization, or platform architecture.

D365 Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

Methodologies: Solid track record in business process mapping, discovery workshops, fit-gap analysis, and blueprinting.

Ecosystem Tools: Comprehensive understanding of Lifecycle Services (LCS), Azure DevOps, data entities, and extension governance principles.

Platform Balancing: Demonstrated ability to balance native out-of-the-box D365 features against targeted custom extensions to maximize long-term platform value.
Preferred Qualifications (Pluses)
- Direct experience operating within heavily regulated, compliance-focused, or audit-sensitive environments.
- Deep familiarity with D365 automated release planning, regression testing frameworks, and environment coordination.
- Relevant Microsoft Dynamics Certifications are highly valued.
- Prior history of mentoring junior analysts or supporting active super-user networks.
