Were currently seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join one of our projects. Youll work on developing technology solutions that combine software, infrastructure, and hardware.

In this role, you will have the chance to build large additions to our platform ecosystem, contributing to an infrastructure that centralizes our ETL and streaming ecosystem, enables experimentation and data development, and powers algorithm development. You will design and build scalable engineering solutions to solve business and data problems.

What Youll Bring (Required Skills & Experience):

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, ideally building or maintaining experimentation platforms or data/analytics infrastructure.

• Strong production-level coding skills in Python, plus Go and Scala or Java.

• Proven experience designing and operating data platforms at scale, including batch ETL and streaming systems.

• Hands-on background with Iceberg-based data warehouses (tables, catalog, optimization, maintenance).

• Experience building and supporting RBAC / IAM-style access-control systems used across enterprise-wide teams.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture patterns.

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate clearly with multiple teams (engineering, data, product, analytics).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with federated query engines such as Trino (or similar tools like Presto).

• Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, alerting, logging, distributed monitoring).

• Experience deploying and maintaining services on Kubernetes using Helm.

• Knowledge of AWS data ecosystem and best practices (data lake patterns, security, compliance).

• Background enabling experimentation rigor (statistical validity, tooling, best practices).

What Youll Do (Responsibilities):

• Design, build, and scale key components of the platform ecosystem, focusing on unifying ETL + streaming infrastructure to support experimentation, data development, and algorithm innovation.

• Develop robust and maintainable data storage solutions using S3 + Parquet + Iceberg, ensuring high reliability and performance.

• Build metadata and catalog capabilities through Hive and Iceberg REST Catalog, improving discoverability and governance of datasets.

• Implement large-scale data transformations using Spark (Python/SQL/Scala), optimizing for cost, speed, and correctness.

• Build backend services and platform features in Go, Scala, and/or Java, enabling experimentation workflows and tooling.

• Maintain and enhance real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka, improving latency, resilience, and scalability.

• Ship and operate services on Kubernetes, using Helm for deployment management.

• Ensure strong security and access control across the platform through AWS IAM / RBAC systems.

• Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, and operational excellence using Datadog (or equivalent).

• Create and evangelize tooling, patterns, and data products that raise rigor and validity in experiment design and analysis company-wide.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver deep-dive analyses and support experiment design for high-priority initiatives.

• Continuously evolve experimentation processes to enable faster, more reliable, and more scientifically rigorous experimentation.
