Job Title: Technical Product Owner – Commercial Lending Modernization
Location: Remote/Hybrid
About the Role:
We are seeking a strong Technical Product Owner to support delivery across a complex commercial lending modernization initiative. This role is best suited for someone who can operate effectively at the intersection of business, product, and engineering, and who is comfortable working in a highly technical, execution-focused environment.
The ideal candidate brings experience with commercial or B2B lending platforms, understands how to break down complex workflows into actionable delivery increments, and can work closely with engineering teams to drive clarity, sequencing, and execution across a modernization program.
Responsibilities
- Own, refine, and manage the product backlog to support delivery priorities, technical readiness, and business objectives.
- Translate business processes, lending workflows, and stakeholder needs into clear epics, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner closely with engineering leads and architects to sequence work across projects, modules, libraries, and technical components based on dependencies, architectural constraints, integration touchpoints, and delivery priorities.
- Proactively identify, track, and help resolve cross-team, cross-system, and technical dependencies to support efficient sprint execution and reduce delivery risk.
- Act as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring requirements are well understood and solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned to delivery goals.
- Support discovery, analysis, and solution validation for complex platform enhancements and modernization efforts.
- Help drive execution across initiatives such as:
- Legacy platform modernization
- Cloud and storage transformation
- Data migration and transformation efforts
- Workflow and integration redesign
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and other Agile team ceremonies as needed.
- Ensure work is delivered with strong attention to quality, scalability, maintainability, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Technical Product Manager in a software delivery environment.
- Experience working on modernization, migration, or platform transformation initiatives.
- Experience partnering closely with engineering teams in a technically complex environment.
- Strong ability to understand and work within systems involving technologies such as .NET, C++, Java, Angular, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in commercial lending, loan origination, servicing, or other B2B financial platforms.
- Familiarity with compliance-driven systems and regulated product environments.
- Experience working across distributed teams in enterprise delivery organizations.
