Snior Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer to join a distributed, high-performing technology team supporting U.S.-based projects. This role is ideal for someone analytical at their core, comfortable working with data pipelines, and capable of bridging the gap between data analysis and analytics engineering.
You will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights while contributing to the design, optimization, and reliability of analytics infrastructure.
Responsibilities

Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

Build, maintain, and optimize data models, transformations, and pipelines using SQL and dbt.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics, KPIs, and reporting requirements.

Support data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility.

Document processes, workflows, and analysis outcomes for cross-functional teams.

Work with U.S. government-related datasets and provide domain-specific insights (nice to have).

Apply Python and data analysis techniques for deeper exploration, forecasting, or advanced analytics (optional stretch).
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or related roles.

Strong proficiency in SQL (querying, optimization, and data modeling).

Hands-on experience with dbt (transformations, version control workflows).

Proficiency in Python for data wrangling and exploratory analysis (pandas, NumPy, etc.).

Solid understanding of relational databases and data warehouse concepts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.

Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have

Experience working with U.S. government datasets.

Exposure to data science workflows such as modeling, machine learning, or statistical analysis.

Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.

Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery for querying, modeling, and analytics.
